On Friday, 21 October 2022, National Public School, Indiranagar, conducted its first-ever inter-school cultural fest ‘Regium’. The school campus was made up in shades of purple and gold keeping the theme and motto of the fest; Command, Compete and Conquer. The fest was ideated and executed by the MUDRA association with Grade 12 students as event heads. The fest kickstarted with a melodious invocation song alongside a lamp lighting ceremony by the Mentor Principal, Ms Shantha Chandran, and Principal, Ms Shweta Chand. This was followed by an amalgamation of Bharatnatyam and Kathak classical dances and a brilliant display of myriad colours and textiles of India through a fashion show.
There was a total of 10 events integrating different aspects of music, art, drama and performances. The two art events were ‘Switch A Sketch’, an event that combined science and art and ‘Antiquity’, the fashion show showcasing fashion through the centuries. The two dance trials were ‘Words in Motion’ and ‘7 Deadly Sins’ wherein all participating schools flaunted intricate dance moves. ‘Magnum Opus’ was a thrilling saga of drama at its very best wherein the participants put up scintillating productions. ‘Punchline’ was the stand-up comedy event that left the audience in splits of laughter. ‘Rhapsody’ was NPS’ unique take on ‘Battle of the Bands’. The second music event ‘Acappella’ was NPS’ spin-the-wheel rendition of a riff-off involving no instruments. ‘Mission C’ was one of the logical reasoning events which tested the wit and knowledge of the participants through riddles and a tricky time-bound escape room. ‘Turing’ was the computer science event in which teams had to decrypt codes, cyphers and languages in a capture-the-flag contest. The participating teams put up energetic and brilliant performances despite all the trials and twists thrown at them.
The day saw students from over ten schools display and showcase their best talents, wit and ingenuity. Participants regaled themselves in art, culture and more. To add to the celebratory mood there were food trucks serving a variety of cuisines, including an in-house ‘Chai Kada’ run by the chefs of NPS INR. As the day closed, the fest ended with the valediction ceremony. The concert-like performance put up by the very own NPS Indiranagar band and the mesmerizing fusion dance recital kept the audience entertained and the festive spirits going. One school reigned supreme over the others, commanding, competing and conquering the overall trophy, this was none other than, National Public School, HSR. All-in-all, the fest was a huge success with the hosts and the participants feeling accomplished and rewarded.
