Dr. Maria Montessori is very special to us! She is revered in every part of the globe as a pioneer in education and as a philosopher.

In the Montessori at National Public School, Indiranagar, the excitement of her birthday celebration began the day before, as the children watched the classrooms being decorated in true birthday party style – with balloons and streamers.

A story about Dr. Montessori’s life and the making of the Montessori materials was shared. The children listened with rapt attention and awe. They were able to identify the flag of Italy, her country of origin, and its location on the map. A quiz session, based on Montessori materials, was conducted. The children brilliantly showcased their knowledge by their enthusiastic responses. They then danced to some catchy music and did some child-friendly exercises which built up a good appetite in time for snacks!

A lovely treat followed as the children prepared to go home, a happy and relaxed lot!
