The Janmashtami celebration in the Kindergarten section of National Public School, Indiranagar on Wednesday, 28 August 2024 was an event filled with joy, enthusiasm, colours and learning. Dressed as Krishna and Radha, students arrived at school in an array of vibrant colours. To greet them at the gate was little Krishna playing his flute and enjoying the swing in his well decorated Vrindavan. The essence of Janmashtami was narrated to students through a story. The highlight of the day was the 'Dahi Handi' event, for which our support staff formed a human pyramid to break the pot, symbolising Krishna’s playful nature and his love for 'maakhan'. Students culminated the celebration by sharing sweets brought from home with each other. They also shared sweets with the support staff who help them daily.
