The National Public School, Indiranagar Sports Meet ‘Heats n Feats 2022’ was organised on Friday, 23 December 2022 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest of the day was India’s international badminton player and an alumnus of National Public School, Indiranagar, Ms Tanya Hemanth. In the junior singles category, she is ranked No. 5 in India and No. 12 in the Badminton World Federation rankings. Ms Tanya has been selected in the Indian team core group for the 2024 Olympics.

Astro the astronaut was the mascot for ‘Heats n Feats 2022’. Exuding their marching skills, students marched around the school in their respective houses, saluting the audience to show an unwavering embodiment of discipline. The school band provided the metronome for the parade with their mirthful music. This was followed by the torch lighting ceremony. Ms Tanya Hemanth then declared the Meet open.

After the oath taking ceremony by the Sports Captain Catherine Maria George, we witnessed the display of several marvellous drills and sports skills by our students. Soon after the colourful display, the much-awaited athletic events took place, showcasing the competitive spirit and tenacity of our students. The air was filled with indefatigable encouragement, with students rallying for their houses. The surprise element of the day was a tug of war between the parents and students, including our alumni. Needless to say, our parents emerged victorious.

Finally, medals were bestowed upon students in the individual championships category. The Voyagers House won the trophy for Best House - March Past. The Challengers House won the trophy for Best House - Discipline. The Overall Championship trophy was won by the triumphant Voyagers House. A strong concluding message of camaraderie and unity was delivered by the final march past for the closing ceremony.

It was a memorable day for the students as they carried the message of peace, non-violence and love for the nation.
