During this academic year, the Counselling Department of NPS Indiranagar conducted nine ‘Enhancing Parent–Child Relationship’ workshops aimed at strengthening parent–child understanding and emotional attunement. Each workshop addressed key developmental themes, including child and adolescent brain development, emotional regulation, gender sensitivity, communication, boundaries, mental health, and identity formation.
Select workshops were designed for both parents and children, thoughtfully structured to strengthen bonding, empathy, and open communication. All sessions were grounded in psychological theory and research and were facilitated using hands-on, experiential approaches rather than didactic lectures.
Parents engaged in reflective activities, guided discussions, practical exercises, and Q&A sessions that helped translate psychological insights into everyday parenting practices, creating a safe and structured space for learning, unlearning, and connection, leading to healthier parent–child relationships and enhanced child wellbeing.
