CERN Programme, 2024

On 9 June 2024, four students —Mehul Satish, Nandan Devaraj, Ainesh Prakash, and Smaran Sastry— from National Public School, Indiranagar joined 30 selected students from the NPS group of schools to visit the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Geneva. This program aimed to immerse the students in the world of cutting-edge scientific research and exploration.

The visit commenced with an enlightening tour of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC),followed by an in-depth explanation of the workings of the LHC and particle accelerators. The students had the privilege of exploring significant sites within CERN, including the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS), LINAC – 1 & 2 and the Antimatter Factory.

The trip offered invaluable insights into current research and the future of scientific breakthroughs. It was a one-of-a-kind experience that left a deep and lasting impact on the young minds, equipping them with knowledge and memories that will inspire their future endeavours.
