Sanskrit Divas 2019

It is said that Sanskrit is the mother of all Indian languages. It personifies with the rich culture and heritage of our country. Yet today, Sanskrit as a language, is losing its importance, in spite of its contribution to our mythology and development of science. In an attempt to spread awareness and promote the revival of this language, On August 14th Sanskrit Divas was celebrated in National Public School, Indira Nagar, Bengaluru. Although Sanskrit is predominantly used for recitation during pujas and religious functions, the idea behind this celebration is to spread more awareness about the language. Keeping this in mind the students put up series of events.

The programme started with lighting of the lamp and invocation song followed by a speech about the richness of Sanskrit, a melodious rendering of Maithreem Bhajatha,, an antakshari of Geetha shlokas, patriotic song, mythology quiz and a vigorous dance depicting Shiv Tandava.

The concluding message that was given, was a reflection of Indian culture ‘The happiness of all beings matters most’.
