On 13 December, 2019, the seniors had a unique field trip to the Post Office.
In the days prior to the visit, the children made a New Year’s greeting card for each set of grandparents. The addresses were written out and the children stuck stamps on their envelopes. Some of them had never seen a stamp and they had wonder in their eyes. Some even wanted to know whose photograph was on the stamp!
At the Post Office it was not only the children who were enthusiastic about seeing the actual working of the place, but the staff there were completely taken in by our children. The Post Master so painstakingly explained how the postal system works. The children posted their card, saw it being cleared and stamped.
The highlight of the day was meeting Mr. Selvam who is the oldest employee at the Post Office and holds the record of being very sincere and punctual to work.
