Child First, a workshop on child safety was organized for the students of KG1 on 23 July 21 and for students of KG2 on 30 July 21 respectively. This was conducted by volunteers of Mukta Foundation, an organization committed to prevent interpersonal abuse and promote mental health. The sensitive message on personal safety, privacy of body parts, safe and unsafe secrets and building courage to say NO to any unsafe touch, was passed through a subtle puppet talk followed by a detailed discussion. Students were made aware of their right to say no to a touch they are not comfortable about, by being introduced to, and associating with different emotions they experience in such a situation. They were encouraged to share any such incidents, if experienced, with someone they trust. It was an effective demonstration of personal care and safety which culminated with student and parent interaction with the presenters.
