National Public School, Indiranagar, conducted its first-ever virtual biannual Commerce fest, Innowaves on 8, September, 2021. With help from the Commerce and Computer teachers, the students of Grades 11 and 12 created a magical experience for their peers from schools across the city. An approximate total of 39 teams took part in iconic fest.
The event heads came up with riveting takes on the classic subjects associated with Commerce. There were 6 interesting and imaginative events. For Accountancy, the event ‘Account Me In?’ aimed at bringing in the aspect of forensic accounting to solve mind-bending mysteries. The Economics event titled “That’s my Policy” expanded the boundaries of the subject and challenged participants to think like prominent modern-day economists with business acumen. Even the simplest of things need an excellent marketing strategy to make a community for itself in the business world, the Marketing event, “Sold Out!” did this with a twist, participants had to make the ‘Unsellable the next Apple’. The legal event christened “Beyond Reasonable Doubt” blurred the lines between two stark areas of study: Law and Commerce. Stock Markets and Trading are essentially what one envisions when one hears about commerce, the stock exchange event, “Stock and Key” was designed with the motive of creating this environment for participants to explore and learn. Finally, the quiz event, “Unlock” essentially functioned as ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ but with the sale and purchase of assets.
After gruelling rounds of competitions, National Academy for Learning, Basaveshwarnagar, emerged victorious. The Commerce students worked assiduously to perfect each round. The batch of 2021-22 and 2022-23, have accomplished something historic and have held it close to their hearts with such humility. Innowaves 2021 was on paper the definition of teamwork between the students and the teachers. Quoting Louisa May Alcott, “It takes two flintstones to make a fire”.
