Valediction 2015 was a spectator's joy and a performer's delight. It was kicked off by the two Vice Prefects, Aiswarya Sriram and Akhil Nori delivering a powerful and solemn speech and thanking every member of the school who had helped conduct the various events of this academic year. Every member of the support staff was called up on the stage. "Those people who work tirelessly and form the side-lines, deserve to be thanked the most."
Aishwarya Seth and Aakansha Pantwere versatile comperes, proving both reverence and entertainment to the gathering. Next on the agenda was a song wherein the students of Class 11 showcased their flair for harmonies and vocalisation with their versions of "Cups (When I'm Gone)" and "Let Her Go".
This was followed by the solemn flag holding over ceremony, where the Captains of each house proudly handed over the flag of their house to their respective Vice Captains, to be carried on till the next academic year. Ms Shirin Jeyakar, Vice Principal, handed over certificates of recognition to the students from Class 12 who attended school every single working day. As a part of the "Go Green Movement", students who cycled to school were recognised in the assembly with a certificate. The air was bursting with anticipation with the announcement of the ‘Most Commendable Student’ award. Ms Shantha Chandran, Principal, honoured the deserving and humble Samvida Venkatesh of Class 12 for her outstanding achievements.
What followed was a skit by the students of Class 11 showcasing the ups and downs in student life. This seemed to strike a chord with the batch of 2014-15, as perfectly showcased by their Prefect Swagam Dasgupta’s tear-jerking speech. Truly, there was not a dry eye in sight.
Presentation of an emotional video as well as a performance by the school band enthralled the audience. This valediction truly lived up to the comperes’ introduction, "A few harmonies may go missing, but the song goes on."
