Meghana embarked on an adventurous trek to Kudremukh Peak through the Kudremukh National Park. Kudremukha National park is a chain of hills with lush green grasslands and intermittent sections of dense greenwoods with natural flowing streams of water. The round trip trek to the peak is nearly 23 Kms with most part of the trail being inclined and rocky. Given it was the monsoon reason, the trek gets even more challenging as the trail gets slippery.
Half way through the forest trail, her mother could see that it will get more daunting further and didn’t want to push the limit of a 10 year old. At that time, Meghana was affirmed to that she rest with her father under a tree which was certified by the forest guide too as safe place to rest, while her mother proceed to the peak for photography and return in few hours. Leaving the father/daughter duo, Meghana's mother continued the trek with the guide towards the peak.
But a voice inside her told her not to give up and she got up, mustered courage and continued her hike towards the peak. She successfully reached the peak. The epic doesn’t end here but gets even more thrilling when it starting raining whilst she was at peak. This meant an even more challenging downhill trek through the path that is now slippery. But the forest had managed to infuse its tenacity in her and she reached the base camp feeling triumphant. Total trekking time was 8 hours and a distance of about 23Kms.
She had truly lived the value of "Reach Out..Reach High...Reach Beyond"!
