The excitement in the air was palpable on the pleasant morning of 31 July 2015. The atmosphere was bursting with vivacity and verve. The countdown had ended and the eagerly anticipated day had arrived. It was the day of Innowaves 2015.
National Public School, Indiranagar hosted the 8th edition of its inter-school commerce fest-INNOWAVES 2015. The day commenced with the welcome address followed by the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. This was accompanied by a melodious invocation song and a dynamic dance performance. Dr. Bindu Hari, the Director, TISB and Vice-Chairperson NAFL and NPS Educational Institutions shared her thoughts and advice with the eager audience.
The students of the 16 participating schools participated with great enthusiasm in all the 5 events. In a unique twist, the host school did not compete in the fest.
Brainstorm (Product Launch) analysed the creativity and innovation of the contestants as they presented their original products with diagrams and video presentations. The products were especially designed to overcome the various problems we may face in our daily lives.
Deadlock (Crisis Management) was a true thriller. As the Top Management geared themselves up to find innovative yet feasible solutions to their company’s crisis, they were interrogated and cross-examined by the press and the judges. In the gruelling event that ensued, only the toughest teams stood the test of time, and confronted the ultimate crisis.
Encierro (Mock Stock) was a simulation of the stock market. Contestants donned the roles of traders, brokers and accountants and scrutinised the stock market in their efforts to make a staggering profit to lead their team to victory.
Quizness (Business Quiz) left participants puzzled with its mind-boggling questions. There was serious competition as teams racked their brains to uncover the answers.
Suited was the only individual event. Consisting of a plethora of ingenious rounds, the race to be the Best Manager was on. Each participant used wit and grit to tackle the obstacles on the way but only the strong-willed could conquer them - for simply one was Suited to be the Best Manager.
The day culminated with the much awaited Valediction ceremony where the deserving winners were honoured with trophies and certificates by the esteemed dignitaries. A magnificent dance performance left everyone enthralled. The audience waited with bated breath for the winner of the overall trophy to be announced. The participants of Christ Junior College clinched the title and were presented with the trophy by the Principal, Ms. Shantha Chandran. This was followed by the Vote of Thanks and a beautiful rendition of the school song.
Innowaves 2015 was a splendid success and the Commerce Department was delighted and satisfied with a job well done.
